Experience and Background
Benjamin Matthew Kurtz has practiced law in Maryland since 2016, focusing primarily on personal injury and criminal defense. He compassionately guides personal injury clients through the legal process, working to maximize their recoveries. His success is evident in the numerous referrals he receives from former clients and other attorneys.
Kurtz also handles a range of criminal defense matters, representing individuals charged with both misdemeanors (including DUI/DWIs, assault, and drug possession) and felonies (such as attempted murder, sex offenses, and narcotics distribution) in state and federal courts. His knowledge of criminal procedure and cross-examination skills are invaluable assets to his clients. He also represents individuals in domestic protective order and peace order proceedings.
Kurtz completed mediation training and participated in a Civil Advocacy Clinic. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2020, 2021) and by other honors organizations.
